What are the best shoes to wear when you have a calf that is too big?

If you have a large calf, and your shoe size doesn't come in half sizes (e.g., 7 ½), it can be difficult to find shoes that fit properly. There are many different ways of addressing this issue, which can be read about on Wikipedia. In summary, for women with larger calves, you should look for shoes with a higher heel and a front lace-up design (elastic or drawstring) or opt for ones that stretch across your instep. For men with larger calves, there are few options other than boots or shoes with elastic sides.

A few other things to consider for shoes that don't fit or feel right:

* They should be comfortable and not tight. * They should be easy to take on/off * They should be attractive. * They shouldn't slip down. *They should last a long time. * They should be made of durable material.

The only shoe I ever bought that was totally bad was a pair of low-top Converse High Tops which had the wrong color combination making them look like black dress shoes.

When you have a small calf, the opposite problem occurs. Shoes are too big and don't fit right, but it's not as easy to find ones that fit right in that case because most shoe designers cater to women with large calves. For example, there are very few men's shoes that have no heal and straps or little toe rings or elastics on the sides such as Steve Madden.

This I will say. A few days ago, I bought a pair of plain black dress shoes at Macy's but they had no heal or shoestrings or anything which would keep them on my feet so I always tripped on the back of my shoe. They were the most comfortable shoes I've ever used so far but they weren't easy to take off and put on when you are tired from working at a job you hate.

My shoe size is 12 1/2 so it's easier for me to find comfortable shoes when there are no heal or shoestrings to make the shoes look more stylish and cool than it is for those whose shoe sizes are in different sizes such as mine.

When I walk, I look like a cowboy.
